What we cover
We explain crypto from an investor's point of view, and we bring in the sharpest minds from both worlds to do it: the crypto industry and traditional finance. Together we work out the principles that matter for a professional investor: how the market works, who the participants are, and how these assets are valued. Legal, tax and security questions round it out.

Crypto has arrived in traditional finance and wealth management. Understanding it, and putting it into context, often has not. Between price predictions on social media and the cautious silence of many institutions, there is no place where decision-makers can learn, soundly and without hype, what is really changing.
Our motivation
The idea grew out of our frequent speaking engagements and conversations with investors. In these small-group exchanges we kept hearing the same feedback: they had never heard crypto put into context this way. That is how the idea came about to make our thinking and our approach available to a wider audience.
Who it is for, and why
Crypto is increasingly becoming a mainstream asset class, yet reservations remain high, mostly due to a lack of understanding. This is exactly where we want to be the first point of contact: no hype, no price predictions, no quasi-religious devotion to individual projects. Although the podcast is aimed primarily at allocators who manage other people's capital, it is just as suited to sophisticated private investors who want to engage seriously with this asset class. What we discuss here also feeds into our daily investment work at Fountainhead Digital.
Our standards
These principles are not lip service for the podcast. We live them every day in our work at Fountainhead Digital.
Substance over Hype
No hype, no price predictions, no maximalist fan behaviour. We explain why something matters, not just that it is happening.
Practice over Theory
Our guests put crypto into practice themselves, as crypto tech founders, at banks, as wealth managers or in family offices. We want to give their thinking and perspectives a stage.
Investor Relevance
We explain how technology and asset class are connected and what that means for investors, clearly and at a professional level.
Continuous Development
We don’t know everything, nobody in crypto does. What drives us is constantly questioning the status quo and continuously developing ourselves as investors.
Anton Werner did not start his career in digital assets, but every step led him there. Instead of a career in private equity, he moved to Berlin in 2011, where he helped build leading e-commerce companies and founded his own travel start-up, which he later sold successfully. Through classic (Web2) venture capital he found his way to crypto and saw in it not just an asset class but the foundation of a more open and fairer internet. His conviction: crypto is liquid venture capital, but without disciplined, data-driven portfolio management, volatility and emotions eat up every return. At Fountainhead Digital he integrates digital assets for wealth managers in a structured, compliant and risk-optimised way.
Martin Bechter has been working with crypto since 2017, sceptical at first and convinced today. With more than a decade in corporate finance and classic (Web2) venture capital, he looks at the young asset class as an investor, operator and strategist at the same time. Above all, he wants to make an often misunderstood technology understandable: factual, thought through from first principles and without hype. As co-founder of Fountainhead Digital he develops crypto investment strategies for professional investors.
